The Art colleges are educational institutions which focus on education in visual arts. The art domain includes education in fine arts, which includes illustrations, paintings, photography, sculpture, and graphic design.

General Eligibility Criteria are given below:

The candidates who wish to seek admission in any college for an undergraduate course (3 Years) in any of the art’s related domain, they should have cleared Class 12th examination or any other equivalent examination from any recognized Board with an aggregate of 50%.

A relaxation of 5% is granted to candidates with the reserved category.

Candidates applying for Masters’ Programme (2 Years) must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any stream of Fine Arts from any recognized University/ Board.

Admission Procedure

Different art colleges vary in their admission procedures. For Undergraduate Admissions, the colleges conduct an entrance examination to test the students’ ability in the subject. For example, Delhi University conducts DU Joint Admission Test (DU-JAT), and merit lists are formulated based on the average marks of entrance test and Class 12th examination.

On the other hand, candidates are admitted in Masters programme through either an entrance test or through marks scored in the Bachelor’s examination, or an interview is organized. However, entrance tests are more common in these streams.
