The startup India mission launched by the Government of India in January 2016 to drive the economic growth of the country by taking the flagship initiative to nurture the innovations and startups in India is in a progressive stage. Many institutions are encouraged by the government’s initiative to get their students involved in making the Startup India Mission a successful venture by setting up startup incubators at their campuses.

Malviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) has moved a step forward in promoting the Startup

India Mission by incubating the idea of three students of Xth standard of Neerja Modi School, Jaipur. Chetanya Golecha, Mrigank Gujjar and Utsav Jain are the students who got 3 crore funding for their startup named ‘Infusion Beverages’. The fundamental idea of the trio for their setup is to manufacture flavoured water without using preservatives, sugar or soda. They have decided to setup the manufacturing plant at Indore.

Earlier, the trio had presented their idea in an entrepreneur fest, but their idea was not appreciated then. The major appreciation came when they participated in an entrepreneurship contest at IIM-Indore and IIT-Kanpur after refining their idea. After that, the extensive breakthrough came with the MNIT’s decision of supporting their idea. MNIT also helped them to patent their product which is in the advanced stage.

MNIT has its incubation and innovation centre which was set up under society act 1960. The fundamental idea behind the setting up of incubation and innovation centre is to facilitate the novel ideas of new entrepreneurs and to provide the basic facilities to start and run a firm from campus. MNIT has signed the memorandum of understanding (MOU’s) with many national and international institutions like NITIE Mumbai, HUDCO New Delhi, IIT Mandi, University of Greenwich London, Florida International University and much more for innovation, research and startup purposes.
